The freezing arctic winters and the nightless nights of short summers make the plants in Finnish Lapland particularly rich in nutrients. We use active substances found in the nature of Lapland in our products, such as lingonberry, blueberry and sea buckthorn seed oils. In addition, we utilize valuable extracts of pine, spruce and birch. When combined with top-quality product development, pure Finnish Taiga natural cosmetics are created.

Spruce

Picea abies

The needles collected from the pure natural spruces of Finnish Lapland produce spruce needle extract, which is known for its cleansing and refreshing properties. That is why we have added the extract especially to our cleansing products.

A number of Taiga products, particularly elixir serum, utilize also a highly nutritious spruce knot extract made from wild spruce branches. The extract is rich in natural antioxidants such as lignans, vitamins C and E. Antioxidants nourish, strengthen and protect the skin from external factors that cause aging, by neutralizing free radicals.

Pine

Pinus sylvestris

We use pine bark extract in Taiga products, which is made from pine bark collected from the pure nature of Finnish Lapland. In the arctic climate of Lapland, pine accumulates a lot of nutrients, especially antioxidants, in its bark. Pine bark extract is one of the most studied plant extracts. It regenerates, protects and soothes the skin and is very suitable for sensitive and aging skin.

Birch

Betulin / Betula alba

We use birch bark extract (betulin) in Taiga products, which is extracted from the bark of pure natural birches of northern Finland. The nutritious betulin is known for its effective skin care properties.

In addition, we use nutritious birch leaf oil extract made from birch leaves in Taiga products. The nutritional content of the extract is very high; it contains e.g. saponins, flavonoids (quercetin and rutin), essential oil, catechins and tannins. Due to its nutritional richness, the extract is effective in treating aging skin in particular.

Lingonberry

Vaccinium vitis-idaea

The nutritious lingonberry is Finland's most important wild berry. In Taiga products, we use lingonberry seed oil. It is a pure special vegetable oil made from wild lingonberry seeds of northern Finland. The oil has a uniquely rich fatty acid composition and is one of the best sources of plant-based omega-3. The oil also contains vitamin E.

The composition effectively maintains healthy and beautiful skin by moisturizing, strengthening and soothing. In addition, the composition supports the regeneration processes of skin cells and nourishes and protects the skin. This accomplish skin lightening and moderating properties.

The products also utilize a very nutritious lingonberry extract made from lingonberries, which contains e.g. organic acids, provitamin A (carotene), vitamins (B1, B2, B3, C), trace elements (K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn), tannins and anthocyanins. The extract treats the skin in many ways and maintains the condition of the skin.

Blueberry

We use blueberry seed oil in Taiga products, which is a pure vegetable oil made from the seeds of wild blueberries of northern Finland. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids (Omega-3, -6 and -9) as well as vitamin E. The effective composition moisturizes, nourishes and protects the skin and helps the skin stay healthy.

Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn is one of the oldest natural plants in Finland and its berries are very rich in nutrients. In Taiga products, we use sea buckthorn seed oil, which is a pure vegetable oil made from the seeds of wild sea buckthorn berries of northern Finland. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids (Omega-3, -6 and -9), carotenoids (a source of vitamin A) and plant sterols.

The oil of this wonder berry acts as an anti-aging, nourishing, moisturizing and regenerating active substance for the skin.

Oat

Avena sativa kernel

We use pure oat oil in Taiga products, which is gently extracted from Finnish oat. Oat oil is rich in natural active substances, such as fatty acids (especially linoleic acid omega-6), avenantramides, ceramides, lipids and vitamin E (in the form of tocopherol and tocotrienol). 

Oat oil nourishes, treats and moisturizes the skin effectively, leaving the skin feeling soft. The oil is especially suitable for problematic and sensitive skin. Thanks to its anti-aging antioxidant properties, oat oil is also suitable for aging skin.

Chaga mushroom

Inonotus obliquus (Chaga)

In Taiga products, we use chaga extract, which is made from chaga mushrooms growing in the pure natural birches of Finnish Lapland. Chaga is known as a superfood, but it can also be called a superactive substance of cosmetics.

Chaga is rich in nutrients that are useful and caring for the skin, such as phytonutrients, e.g. polysaccharides, phenols, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. The amount of antioxidants in chaga is extremely high, so it protects the skin from free radicals and other external stressors of the skin.

Roseroot

Rhodiola rosea

Roseroot is a nutrient-rich wild plant in cool areas. We use roseroot extract in Taiga products, which is made from roseroots collected from the pure nature of Finnish Lapland. Roseroot is very nutritious and invigorating, so it is called arctic ginseng. Because the plant lives in the arctic climate of Lapland, its root system is rich in antioxidants.

Roseroot effectively promotes the skin's energy metabolism and acts as an adaptogen, protecting the skin from strain and stress. In addition, the plant actively prevents aging and is also well suited for sensitive skin.

Hemp oil

Cannabis sativa

We use hemp oil in Taiga products. It is made by cold pressing from the seeds of hemp grown in a Finnish plant farm. Cold-pressed hemp oil is very nutritious and contains a unique proportion of skin-nourishing fatty acids (omega-3, -6 and -9) as well as vitamin E. The nutritious oil treats and moisturizes the skin and increases the skin's elasticity.

Betaine

Betaine

We use betaine in Taiga products, which is made from Finnish sugar beet. Betaine is a natural osmolyte that helps the skin to maintain its moisture balance. It acts as an effective moisturizer for the skin and protects the skin from drying out, improving the elasticity of the skin. Betaine also strengthens the skin's own defenses, protecting the skin from various external factors.

Ascorbyl Glucoside

Taiga products utilize high-quality vitamin C, which is an effective antioxidant. Vitamin C regenerates, brightens and protects the skin. Due to its antioxidant properties, vitamin C slows down the aging of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a highly effective water-binding active substance that moisturizes the skin by binding water to the skin. Taiga products also utilize a smaller form of hyaluronic acid, which provides long-lasting hydration to the skin and is especially suitable for fading fine lines and wrinkles on aging skin.

Polyhydroxy acid, PHA

Plant-based polyhydroxy acid, or PHA, is an effective but gentle active exfoliating agent. PHA regenerates the skin, slows down the aging of the skin and is especially suitable for fading fine lines and wrinkles on aging skin.

Squalane

Squalane

Taiga products utilize high-quality vegetable squalane made from olive oil. Squalane treats the skin and acts as a skin softener, giving the skin a smooth soft surface.
